Milltown Community
For People with Special Needs

Welcome to Milltown Community – set in the historic village of Arbuthnott, amid the rolling countryside of the Mearns in South Aberdeenshire. Milltown is a busy and vibrant place, six residents live in Milltown House, a big old farmhouse - see Home Life - and twenty-two more clients come in every week to work in our Day Workshop. We are a small, integrated community - part of the Camphill Movement and a registered charity. We have built a new wooden self-build kit house, named Peesies Knapp with six bedrooms including space for those who may want to come for a short break. We currently house two tenants in this new house.
We have put up a large new greenhouse as the first step in expanding our plant and craft selling activities in our new Sales Outlet shop, and are landscaping and planting the grounds,to compliment the existing gardens.
We are lucky to have the support of a large group of friends, local residents and relatives and together with them we look forward to an exciting future.
The land and the buildings used by the Community are leased from the charity Camphill Mearns, who are funding the developments.
