Land Management Co-ordinator


Our co-ordinators, train, support & co-work with small groups of people who have a wide range of additional support needs, This can include people with learning difficulties, acquired brain injuries, autism, impaired memory, a wide range of speech & communication issues. Everyone is unique!


The services are provided to adults & there is no retirement age, individuals can remain for as long as they are able to be appropriately supported & can take a role, however small, in an outcome focussed environment.


Milltown Community has a 10 acre site of which approximately 7 acres are maintained & used by the Day Workshop. The site includes a hand tools refurbishment workshop, a wood workshop, large greenhouse, poly-tunnel & community gardens.


We refurbish hand tools to be made into toolkits & be sent abroad in partnership with the Global Concerns Trust & sell excess items in our on-site shop, we grow fruit & vegetables, grow on a range of plants for sale, make items from seasoned wood & pallets, either to special commission or for general sales & make a range of craft items for sale. We also harvest & cut wood to supply wood burning stoves both in the day workshop & the two supported houses within Milltown Community.



The post of ground maintenance co-ordinator is a multi-functional post focussed on undertaking work within the grounds of Milltown Community & the wider community. This will include assisting with maintenance & promotion of the community garden, as well as working on a 1-1 basis with workers as required. Additional duties, depending on skills & experience, may include harvesting & working with willow, making large items such as seating from wood, using petrol lawn mowers & strimmers, fence repair & maintenance & assisting with hard landscaping as required.

Milltown Day Workshop, which is based in Arbuthnott, has been providing a variety of day services for adults with additional support needs for 20 years.

The Tools Workshop provides opportunities for our workers to be involved in refurbishing tools in conjunction with the Global Concerns Trust and Tools For Self Reliance.

You must have experience of working with hand tools & have worked in a workshop environment. Due to the nature of the work a friendly, approachable & patient manner is essential.  

•2 days per week (9am-4pm) - some flexibility required.

•Salary - £9.15 per hour

Successful applicants will be required to register on the PVG scheme.
